In the very hearth of the Stelvio National Park you find Santa Caterina Valfurva, the biggest Alpine ski district in Europe. It is dominated from the tops of Ortles Cevedale and from the Himalayan glacier of Forni, and it is one of the most famous places in Valtellina. Here take place the most important international competitions of Nordic ski. We would also like to remind you that Valtellina
gave birth to Debora Compagnoni. To enjoy 30 km of downhills, in Santa Caterina you will find a chair-lift which goes up to 2000 meters of height, 4 ski-lifts, and starting from this year you will find also the 8-seats cableway which carries people to Valle dell’Alpe, 2700 m of height.
For those who love cross-country skiing, there are 2 courses for a total of 15 km inside the woods. |
